Our office and shop are located in a historic warehouse in Lower Tuck on the Charlotte West Side. We serve over 250 clients annually from a wide array of industries. Job Description:
We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented designer to join our dynamic team. As a Set Designer, you will be responsible for conceptualizing and designing sets for broadcast news studios and other media-related projects. The ideal candidate will have strong visualization skills and the ability to work effectively with clients and collaborate with team members.

We welcome candidates from any design discipline, including but not limited to Theatrical or Film Set Design, Set Design, Interior Design, Architecture, Exhibit Design, and Experiential Design.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with clients to understand their vision, needs, and objectives.
- Lead client Zoom meetings to discuss project details and present designs.
- Develop unique and practical design solutions that align with client requirements.
- Work with other in-house designers and engineers to innovate and improve product offerings.
- Create sketches, renderings, and 3D models to present design concepts.
- Utilize QuickBooks for quoting projects (training provided).
- Collaborate with the production team to ensure designs are accurately brought to life.
- Select materials, colors, and finishes to achieve the desired aesthetic and functionality.
- Stay current with industry trends, materials, and technologies.
- Modify and prepare graphic files for in-house printing using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Opportunity for training on a large format printer, vinyl cutter, and CNC router to produce prints.
- Occasionally, as part of the front-of-house team, act as the first point of contact for potential clients via phone and email.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a design field or equivalent experience.
- A portfolio showcasing design work is required.
- Proficiency in SketchUp is required; proficiency in V-Ray is highly preferred. Experience with AutoCAD is a bonus.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite programs (primarily Illustrator and Photoshop) is required.
- Experience with prepress workflows, including preparing artwork, reviewing proofs, and ensuring print-ready files that meet production specifications.
- Strong visualization and creative skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Multitasking and organizational skills to handle multiple design projects at a time.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Experience with Basecamp and QuickBooks is a bonus (training will be provided).
- Willingness to learn about our products and processes through provided training.

Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
