Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Utility Worker to join our team. This role involves a variety of tasks related to utility maintenance and construction, requiring proficiency in operating heavy machinery and tools. The ideal candidate will have experience in a construction environment and possess a strong mechanical aptitude.
Duties
- Operate heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, and excavators safely and efficiently.
- Perform utility locating to ensure safe digging practices and avoid damage to existing infrastructure.
- Conduct fiber splicing and cabling tasks as needed for utility installations.
- Utilize power tools and hand tools for various construction tasks, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
- Assist in rigging operations for lifting and moving heavy materials on site.
- Climb as necessary for bucket truck operations, ensuring safe access to elevated work areas.
- Maintain equipment by performing routine inspections and minor repairs, demonstrating mechanical knowledge.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time while adhering to safety standards.
Skills
- Proficient in operating heavy equipment including dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, and bucket trucks.
- Knowledge of high voltage and low voltage electrical systems is advantageous.
- Experience with welding techniques is a plus.
- Familiarity with utility locating methods and practices.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues effectively.
- Previous construction site experience is preferred, showcasing an understanding of safety regulations and procedures.
- Ability to climb and work at heights safely while using appropriate safety gear.

Pay: $35.46 - $50.67 per hour
