Sexual Assault Advocate

Join our team as a Sexual Assault Advocate!

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a Sexual Assault Advocate. This full-time position offers a 37.5 hour work schedule with paid time off, health, dental, and life insurance, as well as an Employee Assistance Program.

As a Sexual Assault Advocate, you will have the opportunity to directly impact the lives of sexual assault victims by providing individual advocacy and support. You will assist victims in navigating the legal system, filing protective orders, and understanding their rights regarding emergency contraception, reporting, and victim's compensation. Additionally, you will be available 24/7 to respond to the hospital when a sexual assault victim is in need of assistance.

In this role, you will also have the opportunity to develop and facilitate community education and prevention programs related to sexual assault. You will work closely with local law enforcement, prosecutor's offices, and Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners to ensure the best possible outcomes for victims.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED and at least two years of social work, education, and/or domestic violence experience. A Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred. You must possess excellent organizational, communication, and writing skills and be comfortable working autonomously. Additionally, you must have a working knowledge of safety and security practices and procedures, as well as crisis intervention, interpersonal communication, and conflict resolution skills.
