Shelter Relief Coordinator for ASLAN

Closing Date: 05/07/2026
Hours: Guaranteed minimum 7 hours per week
Salary: 17.01 (+ 12.07% holiday pay) per hour
Based at: Westminster, London

About The Role

ASLAN Faith and Volunteer Network (FVN) Night Shelter 26/27 is an innovative project for individuals rough sleeping in Westminster, offering communal setting emergency accommodation. The shelter will run for a minimum of 6 months, from the beginning of October to the end of March, with a possible extension to the end of June. Various churches contribute in different ways. Each venue will offer individualised companionship and support whilst the guests (re)engage with St Mungos and Westminster Council, pursue Council-directed solutions for the short term, and explore long term housing solutions.

Guests will initially be assessed by St Mungo’s as low risk (without mental health or addiction issues), but may be “high need” and will then be referred to the Communal Setting. For example, they may have a complex immigration status, be waiting for the outcome of an asylum appeal or they may have been offered government support elsewhere in the UK or at another time, but failed to engage with it due to language, cultural or community barriers.

The Shelter Manager will lead and oversee all aspects of the project. The role will be supported by 4 Relief Coordinators in order to cover all morning and night shifts, seven days/ week for the duration of the Shelter run. The Shelter manager will be employed by All Souls Serve the City, the coordinating venue.
