Job specifications:
- Diploma in chemical or mechanical engineering or a related relevant qualification, with a minimum of five years of experience as a safety supervisor or in related roles, specifically within construction or the Oil & Gas fields.
- Preferably, have NEBOSH and Quality Management System internal auditing certifications.
- Experience in Contractor and Process Safety Management.
- Having experience in overseeing the entire contractor lifecycle
- Having experience in On-Site safety Supervision
- Extensive knowledge of organizational processes, terminal operations, and the properties of stored products.
- Strong understanding of safety and environmental regulations.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications.
- Proficiency in oral and written English.
- Must be a team player with a strong awareness of customer needs and the ability to motivate internal stakeholders.
KEY RESULT AREAS:
- Performing SHEQ induction training to all visitors and contractors.
- Assess and monitor the PPE requirement and implementation.
- Review daily work permits of the terminal.
- Conduct daily observation round.
- Monitor the incident reports and monitor the corrective action in field.
- Review of method statements and risk assessments on all non-routine jobs.
- Coordinating and monitoring security procedure of the terminal.
- Coordinate emergency response drills.
- Regular inspection of all contractors’ equipment.
- Maintain the first aid equipment.
- Assist for incident investigation.
- Collect and compile data for preparation of SHEQ performance report.
- Toolbox talks on any changes in SHEQ aspects.
- Interaction with contract/ employees to share the lesson learned from the incident.
- Review the QMS & EMS procedures to make user friendly.
- Support operations and maintenance on day-to-day activities.
- Field Inspection / Supervision:
- As a part of Permit to work system,
- Special site inspection/supervision during safety & environmentally critical jobs,
- Supervision / inspection of terminal firefighting system,
- Terminal activities are done in accordance with working permit procedure.
- SOR: segregate SOR’s, create new action to relevant action holder, follow up and close his part in Enablon.
- Coordinating & monitoring security activities.
- Coordinate & follow up internal auditing of QMS & EMS of SHEQ department
- Carry out internal audits of QMS (ISO 9001) & EMS (ISO 14001) as per the schedule and follow up.
- Review method statements / risk assessment of terminal jobs.
- Coordinate for Risk assessments.
- Material procurement: Procurement of all PPE’s and other material required by the department.
- Responsible for training, assessing and information sharing of his team and other employees and contractors.
- Active involvement and ability to manage part of the Management of Change process.
- Contractor Safety Management.
- Oversee the entire contractor lifecycle: Pre-Qualification: Reviewing contractor safety records, past performance records, and insurance certifications before they set foot on-site.
On-Site Supervision: Monitoring contractor behavior to ensure they aren't taking shortcuts that bypass company safety protocols.
