Shift Engineer

About the Role

Responsible under direction, supervisors, assigns .reviews, and participates in the work of staff, responsible for material recovery plant operations, ensures work quality and adherence to established policies and procedures, and performs the more technical and complex tasks relative to assigned area of responsibility.

Providing training to subordinates as per the requirements and supervise everyday. Maintaining and updating repair logs and tracking and reporting systems. Overseeing special work orders for own shift. Participating in shift turnover meetings and activities. Formulating work orders for onsite maintenance staff, preferred building service vendors and suppliers. Supervising the work of maintenance and equipment specialists on own shift. Ensuring that maintenance machinery/equipment is achieving maximum efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for reactive breakdown repairs and adhere to the planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedule.
• Carry out fault diagnosis and repair of a wide variety of electro-mechanical systems.
• Ensure that machinery and equipment are maintained to achieve maximum efficiency and comply with all Health & Safety Requirements.
• Adhere to a preventative planned maintenance programme, covering equipment and services as laid down in the company procedures.
• Liaise with Senior Engineers, Managers and staff as necessary and report as required.
• Ensure quality standards are maintained.

Qualifications

• Education: Background in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.

Required Skills

• Technical Skills: Preventive maintenance, repair of rotating and static equipment, and troubleshooting.
• Experience: Previous experience in industrial manufacturing, metal smelting, or recycling plant operations.
