About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Shift Engineer - Production to lead and coordinate plant operations during assigned shifts at our Cement Manufacturing Plant. This role is critical in ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality production while maintaining equipment performance and leading operational teams.
Key Responsibilities
Shift Operations Management
- Oversee and coordinate all plant activities during assigned shifts.
- Ensure smooth, safe, and efficient plant operation.
- Conduct structured shift handovers to ensure operational continuity.
Production & Equipment Supervision
- Monitor production processes and performance parameters.
- Ensure optimal equipment performance and productivity levels.
- Minimize downtime through proactive operational control.
Team Leadership
- Lead and guide operators, technicians, and maintenance teams.
- Ensure adherence to safety procedures and production targets.
- Provide coaching, training, and performance guidance to team members.
Problem Solving & Operational Control
- Identify and resolve process deviations and equipment failures.
- Act promptly to reduce operational disruptions.
- Implement contingency plans during emergencies.
Safety & Regulatory Compliance
- Promote a strong safety culture across all shift personnel.
- Ensure compliance with EHS policies, procedures, and legislative requirements.
- Conduct safety inspections and address risks immediately.
- Serve as the point of contact during emergencies.
Quality Assurance
- Monitor product quality and ensure compliance with specifications.
- Coordinate with quality control teams to maintain standards.
Maintenance Coordination
- Coordinate maintenance activities to minimize production interruptions.
- Prioritize equipment servicing based on operational requirements.
Reporting & Communication
- Prepare detailed shift reports covering:
- Production output
- Equipment performance
- Safety incidents
- Key operational updates
- Facilitate effective communication across departments and management.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and cost reduction.
- Support initiatives aimed at improving plant efficiency and profitability.
Qualifications & Experience
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering or Industrial Engineering
Experience
- Minimum 8 years of experience in the production department within a cement manufacturing plant
