Shift Engineer (Electrical)

Job Purpose

Responsible for efficient and safe operation of AFBC Boiler supplying continuous steam required for pulp processing, paper machines, and utility operations in the paper manufacturing plant.

Key Responsibilities1. Boiler Operation

• Operate and monitor AFBC Boiler during assigned shifts.
• Maintain continuous steam supply for:
• Paper Machine
• Pulp Mill
• Chemical Recovery & Utility sections
• Monitor combustion efficiency, bed temperature, draft, and steam parameters.
• Ensure stable boiler load as per plant demand.

2. Fuel & Combustion Management

• Handle multi-fuel firing such as:
• Coal
• Biomass
• Bagasse
• Agro waste / Reject paper sludge (if applicable)
• Optimize fuel-air ratio for efficient combustion.
• Monitor fuel feeding and bed material condition.

3. Utility & Auxiliary Equipment Handling

• Operate and monitor:
• ID / FD / PA Fans
• Ash Handling System
• DM Water System
• Feed Water Pumps
• Steam Distribution System
• Air Preheater & Economizer

4. Shift Management

• Supervise boiler operators and field technicians.
• Ensure coordination between Boiler, Turbine, and Paper Machine teams.
• Execute proper shift handover & takeover procedures.

5. Safety & Statutory Compliance

• Follow boiler safety norms and statutory regulations.
• Implement Permit-to-Work (PTW) system.
• Maintain safe handling of fuel, ash, and high-pressure steam systems.
• Ensure emission compliance and pollution control standards.

6. Troubleshooting & Maintenance Support

• Handle boiler trips, load fluctuations, and emergency conditions.
• Coordinate preventive and breakdown maintenance.
• Support shutdown planning and inspection activities.

7. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain shift logs and boiler operational records.
• Record steam generation, fuel consumption, and efficiency.
• Report abnormalities and incidents to Utility Manager.

• Strong knowledge of AFBC Boiler in Paper Industry
• Steam demand management for continuous process industry
• Combustion and bed fluidization control
• DCS/SCADA operation knowledge
• Manpower supervision
• Problem-solving & decision-making skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹10,680.36 - ₹44,128.81 per month
