Novatex Limited is looking for an experienced Shift Incharge – Power House for its Landhi Plant. The ideal can1didate will be responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and uninterrupted power plant operations while supervising maintenance activities, monitoring equipment performance, and maintaining compliance with operational and HSE standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct at least two thorough physical safety rounds of Power House-II during each shift.
- Inspect all engines, equipment, and auxiliaries and report abnormalities to supervisors/HOD promptly.
- Review and monitor generator logbook parameters including exhaust, intake, pressure, temperature, and related operational readings.
- Maintain all engine operating parameters within safe operational limits as per SOPs and company procedures.
- Ensure standby generator sets are physically checked and test runs are conducted as per company policy.
- Monitor and manage boiler operations effectively during shifts.
- Sign daily work permits, supervise maintenance activities, and ensure proper closure of permits after completion of work.
- Monitor fuel consumption of all engines and analyze fuel cost efficiency across different fuel types.
- Prepare weekly energy reports for management and energy meetings.
- Coordinate oil analysis activities including sampling, documentation, and processing.
- Perform vibration monitoring of all PH-2 equipment and auxiliaries.
- Supervise operation and maintenance of waste heat recovery (WHR) systems for HFO and gas engines.
- Monitor fuel stock levels and coordinate fuel ordering as per operational requirements.
- Assist in preparation of annual departmental budgets.
- Monitor engine health parameters including ignition voltage, CCP, and knocking trends.
- Identify operational abnormalities and escalate issues to HOD/management in a timely manner.
- Ensure strict compliance with HSE standards, company policies, and operational safety procedures.
- Verify machine and equipment safety precautions, including WHR safety compliance.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and plant security throughout the shift.
Requirements
- B.E. in Mechanical, Electrical, or relevant Engineering discipline.
- Minimum 05 Years of Experience in power house/power plant operations and maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of generator systems, boilers, WHR systems, and engine condition monitoring.
- Familiarity with HSE standards, permit-to-work systems, and preventive maintenance practices.
- Good reporting, coordination, and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work in rotational shifts and handle operational emergencies effectively.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with HFO and gas engine operations.
- Knowledge of vibration analysis and oil analysis techniques.
- Strong leadership and team supervision capabilities.
- Proficiency in operational reporting and energy monitoring systems.
