About Corner Coffee

Corner Coffee is reimagining coffee and community gathering space located in the heart of downtown Miami within First Church Miami.

Inspired by our iconic stained-glass installation and commitment to hospitality, Corner Coffee exists to serve residents, students, visitors, and the broader Miami community through exceptional coffee, meaningful service, and beautiful gathering spaces.

All café profits support the church's homeless ministry and community outreach efforts.

We are currently seeking experienced Shift Leads to help build a new culture of hospitality, excellence, and accountability as we relaunch the café.

Position Summary

The Shift Lead serves as the operational leader of the café during assigned shifts and is responsible for maintaining service standards, beverage quality, team coordination, and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Open and close the café
• Prepare espresso and specialty beverages
• Lead daily shift operations
• Train and mentor new employees
• Maintain quality and consistency standards
• Resolve customer concerns professionally
• Monitor cleanliness and organization
• Assist with inventory and restocking
• Support special events and community programming

Qualifications

Preferred:

• 1+ year of coffee shop experience
• Prior supervisory or leadership experience
• Strong customer service skills
• Reliable transportation
• Weekend availability

Must:

• Be punctual
• Be coachable
• Have strong communication skills
• Work well independently and with a team
