Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Shift Leader to join our team in a fast-paced food service environment. The Shift Leader will play a crucial role in overseeing daily operations, ensuring exceptional customer service, and leading a small team of employees. This position requires strong leadership skills, a passion for the food industry, and the ability to manage various aspects of restaurant operations effectively. Including but not limited to all Pizza insider duties like cleaning, making end to end pizza, accuracy of order, food prep like dough making, vegetables chopping, meat and other pizza toppings prep, sub sandwiches and specialty item as introduced.
Responsibilities
- Work with/under Store Manager or GM, Supervise and coordinate daily activities of the restaurant staff to ensure smooth operations from store open to close.
- Train, mentor, and develop team members in food preparation, customer service, and operational procedures.
- Manage inventory control and ensure proper stock levels are maintained.
- Handle cash transactions accurately using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS.
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards and regulations.
- Assist in food preparation and cooking as needed during peak hours.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing guest inquiries and resolving complaints promptly.
- Conduct interviews and assist in hiring processes for new staff members.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areas.
- Collaborate with management on budgeting, staff scheduling, and performance evaluations.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a quick service or fast food restaurant is preferred; fine dining experience is a plus.Marcos Pizza preferred
- Strong knowledge of food handling, safety regulations, and culinary practices.
- Proven supervisory experience in the food service industry with a focus on team management.
- Familiarity with cash handling procedures and point-of-sale systems.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with staff and customers.
- Experience in training & development of team members is highly desirable.
- Background in hospitality management or restaurant management is advantageous.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
