Role Summary
The Shift Production Officer – Mould / Tool Maintenance is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation, maintenance, and readiness of injection moulds and tools during assigned shifts. The role focuses on minimizing downtime, improving mold life, ensuring quality output, and supporting uninterrupted production of plastic pipe fittings.
Key Responsibilities
Mold & Tool Maintenance
- Perform preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of injection moulds.
- Ensure timely mold changeover, setting, alignment, and trials.
- Inspect molds for wear, damage, leakage, or defects and take corrective actions.
- Maintain hot runner systems, cooling lines, ejector systems, slides, and cores.
- Ensure proper polishing, cleaning, greasing, and storage of molds.
Production Support
- Coordinate with production, quality, and process teams to achieve shift targets.
- Troubleshoot mold-related defects such as flash, short shot, sink marks, warpage, and flow issues.
- Support process optimization to improve cycle time and reduce rejection.
- Ensure availability of molds as per production planning.
Shift Management
- Supervise tool room technicians, fitters, and helpers during the shift.
- Allocate work and ensure adherence to safety and standard operating procedures.
- Ensure proper shift handover and documentation.
Quality & Safety
- Ensure molds meet quality standards for plastic pipe fittings.
- Follow ISO/5S/TPM safety and housekeeping practices.
- Ensure compliance with workplace safety norms while handling molds and machines.
Documentation & Records
- Maintain mold history cards, maintenance logs, breakdown records, and spare usage.
- Update mold life, preventive maintenance schedules, and corrective action reports.
- Report daily shift performance to seniors.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of Injection Moulding Processes for plastic pipe fittings (PVC, CPVC, HDPE, PP, etc.)
- Hands-on experience in mold maintenance, hot runner systems, and hydraulics.
- Ability to read mold drawings and technical specifications.
- Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Leadership and team-handling ability.
- Basic knowledge of process parameters and cycle optimization.
Educational Qualification
- Diploma / BE / B. Tech in Mechanical / Plastic / Production Engineering
- ITI (Tool & Die / Fitter) with relevant experience may also be considered.
Experience
- 3–7 years of experience in injection moulding mold maintenance.
- Experience in plastic pipe fittings manufacturing preferred.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₹600,000.00 - ₹700,000.00 per year
