Shift Supervisor - Cadillac Daddy's Cafe

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Assistant Director of Dining Services

STATUS: Hourly, Non-Exempt

JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for performing routine duties necessary to keep Cadillac Daddy’s Café operating during meal periods in accordance with D&E Dining Services standards and procedures under strict sanitary conditions. Act as supervisor in charge in the absence of a manager. Take responsibility for servers, cashiers, and cooks to ensure all duties listed are performed in a timely and efficient manager. Strive for 100 percent guest satisfaction.

DUTIES:

• Assumes operational responsibility for Cadillac Daddy Café
• Charged with maintaining high quality of food and beverage service at Cadillac Daddy Café
• Actively seeks guests’ feedback using established comment card program. Utilizes information as a guidance of training
• Addresses guests’ concerns and consults with Dining Services Director on such matters, as needed
• Trains Cadillac Daddy Café employees in methods of performing duties, assigns and coordinates work to promote efficiency in operations, excellence in food presentation, and service
• Ensures food is served in correct portions, properly garnished, and maintained at proper temperatures
• Ensures sanitation and safety meets or exceeds specifications of local Health Department
• Ensures timely and efficient meal service
• Will meet regularly to discuss the operations of Cadillac Daddy Café with the Dining Services Management Team
• Works with the Business Office to develop and monitor payment processes for Cadillac Daddy Café
• Serves as a role model for associates and students of Davis & Elkins College by maintaining standards of appearance, dress, attendance, and conduct
• Other duties as assigned

PREREQUISITES / EDUCATION:

• High School Diploma
• Three years’ service in similar supervisory capacity/related field
• Microsoft Office Suite proficiency
• Ability to obtain SERV Safe certification within six months of start date
• General knowledge of National Sanitation Foundation guidelines
