Shipping and Receiving Specialist

Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Shipping and Receiving Specialist to join our logistics team. In this vital role, you will oversee the efficient movement of goods through accurate shipping, receiving, and inventory management processes. Your proactive approach will ensure that orders are fulfilled promptly, stock levels are maintained accurately, and all warehouse operations run smoothly. Responsibilities

• Safely operate forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks, and RF scanners to load, unload, and transport goods within the warehouse
• Manage shipping and receiving processes by verifying incoming and outgoing shipments against purchase orders using Warehouse Management System (WMS) software such as AS400 or similar platforms
• Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment with attention to accuracy and packaging standards, ensuring timely order fulfillment for e-commerce customers
• Stock shelves efficiently by organizing products using order picker equipment and maintaining optimal inventory levels in accordance with Warehouse Distribution protocols
• Conduct regular inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies using basic math skills and Warehouse Management System tools
• Assist with loading trucks for outbound deliveries and unloading incoming freight while adhering to safety guidelines
• Maintain a clean, organized workspace by stocking supplies, managing pallets, and ensuring safety procedures are followed at all times

Requirements

• Proven warehouse experience with familiarity in shipping & receiving operations
• Ability to operate forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks, MRPs (Material Requirements Planning systems), and RF scanners safely and effectively
• Strong understanding of warehouse distribution processes including order picking, packing, stocking, and load & unload procedures
• Basic math skills for inventory counts, measurements, and data entry accuracy
• Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) such as AS400 or similar platforms is preferred
• Knowledge of e-commerce fulfillment processes is a plus
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Valid certification for forklift operation is highly desirable
