Shipping Associate

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Shipping Associate to join our dynamic warehouse team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating various types of forklifts and heavy equipment to facilitate the efficient movement of materials within our facility. This role is essential in ensuring that our shipping and receiving processes run smoothly, contributing to overall warehouse productivity.

Duties

• Operate forklifts, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks to load and unload materials from trucks and containers.
• Perform order picking tasks using RF scanners to ensure accurate inventory management.
• Handle materials with care, ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations and safety standards.
• Assist in shipping and receiving operations, verifying incoming and outgoing shipments for accuracy.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to warehouse management system protocols.
• Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize workflow and improve operational efficiency.
• Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any mechanical issues.
• Engage in heavy lifting as required, demonstrating physical stamina and strength throughout the shift.

Experience

• Previous experience in warehouse distribution or materials handling is preferred.
• Familiarity with order picking processes, including the use of RF scanners and warehouse management systems.
• Experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts, cranes, or similar machinery is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of shipping & receiving procedures along with mechanical knowledge for equipment maintenance is a plus.
