Job Summary:

We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to join our team in a fast-paced pillow manufacturing environment. The Shipping Clerk will be responsible for coordinating and managing the shipping of finished products, ensuring accuracy and on-time delivery. The ideal candidate will be organized, dependable, and able to handle a high volume of orders in a timely manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Reporting relationships, work assignments, and work schedules may be subject to change in order to meet company needs and business requirements. Duties include:

  • Shipping Operations: Prepare and process shipping documents for delivery.
  • Documentation and Record Keeping: Maintain accurate shipping logs, including tracking numbers, delivery schedules, and shipment details. Prepare bills of lading, shipping invoices, and other required documentation.
  • Loading and Unloading: Oversee or assist in the loading and unloading of finished goods from delivery trucks, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage.
  • Coordination with Other Departments: Work closely with the production and warehouse teams to ensure timely and accurate shipments. Communicate any issues or discrepancies with the production team to resolve shipment problems.
  • Customer Service: Address any shippingrelated customer inquiries, including tracking order status, handling delays, and resolving issues related to damaged or missing goods.
  • Shipment Scheduling: Coordinate with carriers and shipping partners to schedule pickups and deliveries, ensuring timely dispatch of orders.
  • Maintaining Shipping Area: Keep the shipping area clean, organized, and stocked with necessary materials such as packing supplies, labels, and documentation forms.
  • Safety Compliance: Follow all safety guidelines and practices when handling goods and operating equipment in the shipping area.
  • Other Duties: Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Shipping Supervisor, such as assisting with inventory audits, returns processing, or other administrative duties related to shipping.

Note: Additional responsibilities not listed here may be assigned at times.

Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or logistics, preferably in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
  • Knowledge of shipping software and systems (e.g., UPS, FedEx, freight carriers) is preferred.
  • Strong organizational and timemanagement skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Basic math skills and attention to detail to ensure accurate order fulfillment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks related to shipping and loading.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fastpaced environment while maintaining accuracy and quality.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate with other departments and external partners.
  • Familiarity with safety protocols and handling of shipping materials and equipment.

Language Skills:

Strong communicator with ability to express point of view with confidence.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Computer Skills:

Ability to read and use machine interface
