Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Shipping Manager to lead our logistics and distribution operations. Duties

• Manage all aspects of shipping and receiving operations, including order fulfillment, freight coordination, and inventory control within warehouse management systems (WMS) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platforms such as SAP or Oracle.
• Oversee transportation planning and management, including selecting carriers, negotiating rates, and ensuring compliance with transportation management systems (TMS) and NVOCC (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier) regulations.
• Lead procurement activities related to logistics materials, sourcing vendors, and managing contracts to optimize costs while maintaining quality standards.
• Coordinate warehouse distribution activities, ensuring efficient materials handling, stocking, and storage practices aligned with demand planning and inventory management strategies.
• Utilize data analysis skills and supply chain analytics tools like Tableau and SQL to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), identify root causes of issues, and implement process improvements for shipping efficiency.
• Supervise shipping & receiving staff, including dispatching tasks, forklift operation certification management, and adherence to safety protocols.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as procurement, production planning, and customer service to ensure seamless order fulfillment and delivery schedules.

Skills

• Extensive experience with warehouse management systems (WMS), transportation management systems (TMS), ERP platforms (e.g., SAP, AS400), and supply chain software tools.
• Strong knowledge of supply chain management principles including demand planning, category management, freight forwarding (including NVOCC), vendor management, and logistics optimization.
• Proficiency in data collection, analysis skills using SQL or Tableau for reporting on shipping metrics, inventory levels, and process efficiencies.
• Mechanical knowledge related to materials handling equipment such as forklifts; certification preferred.
• Exceptional negotiation skills for vendor contracts, freight rates, and procurement negotiations to maximize profit & loss outcomes.
• Ability to perform root cause analysis on shipping delays or inventory discrepancies; implement effective corrective actions.
• Familiarity with e-commerce logistics workflows including order fulfillment strategies for online channels.
• Strong understanding of transportation planning including 3PL (third-party logistics providers), freight forwarding procedures, and international shipping regulations.
