Shipping & Production Coordinator

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and reliable Receiving & Production Coordinator to join our fast-paced custom apparel manufacturing team in North Kansas City. In this role, you are the gatekeeper of accuracy for our entire production floor—responsible for receiving incoming goods, verifying counts and garments with 100% accuracy, and laying out orders ahead of schedule so printing never slows down. You will work closely with our sales team to flag and resolve any missing pieces or discrepancies before they become problems, and share quality control responsibilities to ensure every order that ships meets our standards.

Responsibilities

  • Receive incoming shipments as boxes are delivered, sorting and organizing boxes on our storage racks until they are ready to be pulled for count-in.
  • Count in every order with 100% accuracy—verifying exact quantities, correct styles, colors, and sizes against the order.
  • Lay out and prepare orders ahead of schedule so they are ready for printing, keeping production moving and staying ahead of demand.
  • Notate and communicate any missing pieces, shortages, or discrepancies to the sales team promptly and clearly.
  • Assist with catching and quality inspection responsibilities. Inspecting garments for both manufacturing defects and screen printing defects.
  • Communicate directly with the printers regarding any quality issues, and organize printed stock for finishing or for the next print location.
  • Coordinate with the screen printer to fix damaged or misprinted pieces. If a piece cannot be fixed, notate it, separate it from the order, and communicate the discrepancy to the sales team so the customer can be informed.
  • Manage outbound and shipping, ensuring exact counts are accounted for on every order leaving the building.
  • Ensure all orders ship in a timely fashion so deliveries are never late.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and accurate work area at all times.

Requirements

  • Exceptional attention to detail with a commitment to 100% accuracy on quantities, styles, colors, and sizes.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the confidence to stop and recount whenever there is any doubt.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to coordinate effectively with both the sales team and the print team.
  • Highly organized and able to stay ahead of schedule while managing receiving, layout, quality control, and shipping responsibilities.
  • Ability to spot manufacturing and print defects and take appropriate action to resolve or escalate them.
  • Comfortable working in a hands-on manufacturing setting that involves standing, lifting boxes and garments, and moving stock.
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and accountable, with a strong sense of ownership over accuracy and on-time delivery.
  • Prior experience in receiving, inventory, shipping, warehouse, or apparel/print production is a strong plus, but we are willing to train the right detail-oriented and dependable candidate
