Job Number 2026-00030As a Shipping & Receiving Technician, you will provide technical and clerical support to ensure the smooth flow of materials in and out of the Service Center, including library materials, external and interoffice mail, and freight. This role coordinates with service vendors, troubleshooting delivery issues, and maintaining accurate records and reports. The incumbent plays a key role in maintaining service efficiency, acting as a knowledgeable resource on behalf of the organization and

Our organization is dynamic and therefore duties may change based on business necessity; however, any new duties will remain within the scope of the job.Prepares and processes outgoing packages, bulk mailings, and pallets via carriers, couriers, and freight on behalf of all Service Center departments. Monitors the Service Center's delivery entrance and accepts shipments and inquiries from outside vendors. Notates and distributes incoming items to the appropriate department or individual.Reconciles and tracks incoming library materials in the record management database or software system. Receives and delivers mail to Service Center employees and processes mail to be shipped out of the Service Center.Operates and maintains all postage equipment and software according to contracts. Monitors postage expenditures and impact to the budget.Unpacks incoming collection shipments. Catalogs and barcodes periodicals. Shelves library materials on carts for use by processing and circulation teams. Creates and prepares reports and other materials and documents.Resolves problems with shipments which may include late shipments, shortages, and other discrepancies by working with vendors and others to reach resolution.Prepares and authorizes invoices for payment. Reconciles vendor account statements and researches discrepancies. Serves as a resource for others with questions.
