Why We Are Hiring This Role
We are hiring this role to make the shop run smoother for our customers and our team. The right person will help buy back owner time, free service advisors to focus on clients and sales, keep technicians moving, reduce comebacks, and make sure every vehicle leaves clean, complete, and properly checked.
Our service advisors should have more time to communicate with customers, present estimates, follow up on recommended work, and create a great client experience. Our technicians should have clearer workflow, better support, and fewer interruptions. The foreman is the person who helps connect those pieces.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily workflow in the shop after work is approved by the service advisors.
- Assign and prioritize work based on technician skill, parts status, promise time, workload, and urgency.
- Perform final quality control checks and road tests before vehicles are released to customers.
- Verify completed repairs, scan status, warning lights, notes, cleanliness, and overall delivery readiness.
- Support technicians with diagnostics, repair information, test plans, electrical issues, scan-tool data, and difficult repair decisions.
- Help reduce comebacks by catching problems before delivery and documenting root causes when issues return.
- Support the vehicle intake and pre-scan process so advisors can focus more on clients and sales.
- Fill in as a technician when needed because of vacations, sick time, bottlenecks, or urgent shop needs.
- Coach technicians on documentation, quality, efficiency, and shop standards.
- Communicate vehicle status clearly to service advisors throughout the day.
What Success Looks Like
- The owner is pulled into fewer daily diagnostic, workflow, QC, and fill-in interruptions.
- Service advisors have more time for client communication, estimate presentation, sales, and follow-up.
- Technicians know what is next and spend less time waiting, guessing, or switching jobs unnecessarily.
- Completed vehicles are checked before delivery and customers receive a cleaner, more consistent experience.
- Comebacks are reduced, tracked, and used for coaching rather than blame.
- The shop feels more organized at the start of the day, midday, and end of day.
Qualifications
- Strong automotive diagnostic and repair experience.

- Comfortable with scan tools, service information, electrical testing, road testing, and repair verification.
- Quality-first mindset with strong attention to details, notes, cleanliness, and customer experience.
- Ability to communicate clearly with service advisors, technicians, vehicle support, and management.
- Valid driver license and ability to safely road test customer vehicles.
- ASE certifications are preferred but not required if experience and ability are strong.
- Prior foreman, lead technician, diagnostic technician, or shop leadership experience is preferred.
