General Summary
A Shop Laborer assist daily task which consist of a variety of manual labor functions and duties with fabrication.
Essential Job Functions
1. Regular and reliable attendance.
2. Prepared and on time for scheduled shift with proper PPE.
3. Responsible for Daily Shift validations.
4. Engage in morning safety tailgate meeting and communicate safety topic with crew when needed.
5. Follow and/or complete the Detailed Daily Work Plan (DDWP) and ensure crew actively participates, knows and follows each procedure.
6. Help identify hazards on the job site by being aware of the dangers associated with hazardous atmospheres.
7. Perform tasks assigned by Foreman like; mitigate or eliminate hazards on the job site, buff and grind as needed for Welder.
8. Must cut and thread pipe as needed for each project.
9. Must know how to perform the bolt-up process.
10. Responsible for maintaining the shop working areas clean and shipping and receiving
11. Learn proper use and maintenance of various tools; gas monitors, two-way radios, basic hand tools, lifting, rigging and binding equipment, shovels, slings etc.
12. Be actively involved in Behavioral Safety Process.
13. Develop knowledge of KSI PPM-SOPs and refer to the SOP Manual prior to each task.
14. Follow all KS Industries, LP safety, and customer policies and procedures.
15. Shall perform all physical and mental requirements listed.

Lifting/Pulling/Jerking/Grasping/Raising/Lowering: Must be able to lift, grasp up to 50 lbs. with the use of fingers, palm and wrists to hold and/or manipulate objects (hammers, saws, pencils, pens etc.) Must be able to raise and lower objects from one level to another.

Squatting/Twisting/Bend/Reaching/Stooping/Squatting/Kneeling : Must be able to twist, squat, kneel and bend in various positions with or without objects.

Pushing : Must be able to exert force upon an object so that the object moves away from the force.

Carry/Support : Must be able to carry and provide support to objects, usually holding it in hands, arms and/or on the shoulders.

Body Positions; Supine/Seated/Standing : Must be able to work in a supine, seated or standing position.

Working Conditions: The locations vary from site to site. Work is physically demanding and requires the ability to concentrate well on the job at hand, in all types of weather. Majority of the work is construction-based work. Walking and working surface vary depending on the terrain, from flat to extreme slopes and frozen, wet, snowy and slippery conditions.
Working Hours: Normally, a full-time employee will work 40 hours per week, depending on the factors such as weather and schedules. Work schedules and hours may vary somewhat depending on specific client locations and projects. In general, applicable work schedules include 5-8’s and 4-10’s. All labor laws in reference to rest breaks and meal periods will be followed.
