Shop Maintenance Technician – Small Engines, Diesel & Equipment

About Us:

Asphalt Authority is a fast-growing asphalt maintenance company specializing in sealcoating, crack sealing, and parking lot striping. We operate a large fleet of trucks and specialized sealcoating equipment and are looking for a hands-on Shop Maintenance Technician to keep our equipment running efficiently throughout the season.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with their hands, solving mechanical problems, and maintaining a wide range of equipment including small engines, trucks, and sealcoating machinery.

Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and repair small engines (Honda, Vanguard, etc.)

• Maintain and repair sealcoating machines, spray systems, pumps, hoses, and tanks

• Perform maintenance and light repairs on gas and diesel trucks and equipment

• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and fuel system issues

• Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, filters, belts, hoses, and lubrication

• Maintain shop organization and track equipment maintenance schedules

• Prepare equipment for daily field use during the season

• Assist with winter equipment rebuilds and upgrades

• Keep maintenance records and communicate repair needs to management

Qualifications:

• Experience working on small engines and construction equipment

• Mechanical experience with gas and diesel engines

• Ability to diagnose equipment problems and repair efficiently

• Experience with pumps, sprayers, hydraulic systems, or similar equipment is a big plus

• Welding or fabrication skills are a bonus but not required

• Must be dependable, organized, and detail-oriented

• Valid driver’s license required
