Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough inspections of equipment, vehicles, and machinery to identify mechanical issues or safety concerns.
- Perform repairs, replacements, and routine maintenance on various mechanical systems using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Utilize diagnostic tools such as an ohmmeter to measure electrical resistance and troubleshoot electrical components effectively.
- Maintain detailed service records, repair logs, and maintenance schedules for all equipment serviced.
- Follow safety protocols diligently to ensure a secure working environment for yourself and colleagues.
- Collaborate with team members to prioritize repair tasks and ensure timely completion of work orders.
- Keep the workshop organized by managing parts inventory and ensuring tools are properly maintained.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a mechanic or in a similar role with a strong understanding of mechanical systems.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools including an ohmmeter for electrical troubleshooting.
- Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams accurately.
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail and safety standards.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively document repairs and collaborate with team members.
- Physical ability to lift heavy parts and work in various positions for extended periods.
