Job Summary: The prototype technician builds prototypes of tactical wheeled vehicles, Battlefield Systems, and maintains and repairs existing vehicles and products within the ND Defense fleet.
Responsibilities:

Teardown and assemble military vehicles per work instructions provided by engineering.

Advise supervisor of issues that arise during vehicle build and disassembly efforts.

Assists engineering with technical mechanical issues that arise to keep the build schedule progressing.

Supports customer testing, and marketing events showcasing ND Defense products.

Repairs and maintains heavy equipment including, engines, hydraulics, and transmissions.

Removes, disassembles, cleans, and reassembles components.

Uses work instructions to understand issues and selects the proper tools and protocols for an assignment.

Diagnoses issues and performs failure analyses when issues arise.

Operates a forklift, crane and other equipment required for assembly tasks.

Reports safety related concerns to shop manager.

Builds and assist verification and functionality of customer vehicles with Quality assurance personnel.

Performs daily housekeeping tasks such as cleaning shop areas.

Follows all safety requirements, utilizes tools safely, and wears appropriate PPE.

Assists with shipping and receiving activities if needed.

Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
-
High School Diploma
-
At least 2-4 years of verified mechanical experience working in a shop atmosphere working with Medium Duty Trucks

Military NCO is a plus
-
ASE Certifications are preferred but not mandatory
-
Experience with International® (Navistar®) vehicles preferred
-
A relevant combination of additional experience or advanced degree may meet these requirements
-
Must be able to read and understand service manuals, blueprints, and work instructions

ASE certification Strongly preferred
-
Mechanical experience with International LLC trucks strongly preferred
-
Must be able to travel (10 to 20 percent)

Must be able to work Mandatory OT when required

Essential Functions include but are not limited to: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis, squat, kneel, push, pull, and walk and stand.
