Shop Welder

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Shop Welder/Fabricator to join our team in the Albuquerque area. This position focuses on fabricating steel gates and fence components in a shop environment for commercial and industrial projects.

The ideal candidate will have experience with MIG welding, steel fabrication, and measuring/layout for gate construction.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate steel gates, frames, and fence components
• Perform MIG welding on mild steel
• Cut, grind, and prepare metal materials
• Read and interpret shop drawings and measurements
• Ensure welds meet quality and structural standards
• Maintain a clean and organized fabrication shop
• Assist with staging and loading finished materials when needed

Requirements

• 2+ years welding or metal fabrication experience
• Proficient in MIG welding
• Ability to read a tape measure accurately
• Experience with grinders, chop saws, drill presses, and fabrication tools
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs
• Reliable and punctual

Preferred Experience

• Gate or fence fabrication
• Structural steel welding
• Forklift operation

Work Location

Fabrication shop located in the Albuquerque metro area. Must be able to reliably commute.
