Shopify Backend Developer (2–3 Years Experience)

We are looking for a talented Shopify Backend Developer with 2–3 years of hands-on experience working within the Shopify ecosystem. The ideal candidate will be comfortable building custom backend features, integrating APIs, and supporting the technical operations of high-performing Shopify stores.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Shopify backend features, including custom apps and API integrations.
• Work with the Shopify Admin API, Storefront API, and GraphQL for various backend tasks.
• Support custom checkout functionality, Shopify Functions, and automation workflows.
• Troubleshoot backend issues and assist in optimizing store performance.
• Work collaboratively with front-end developers and designers to deliver smooth experiences.
• Maintain clean, scalable code and ensure backend system reliability.

Requirements

• 2–3 years of backend development experience (Shopify experience required).
• Good understanding of:
• REST and GraphQL APIs
• Shopify Admin API & Storefront API
• Liquid (basic familiarity is a plus)
• Experience with backend technologies like Node.js, TypeScript, or Ruby.
• Knowledge of Shopify app development, webhooks, and authentication methods.
• Familiarity with Git and standard development workflows.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience with headless commerce setups (e.g., Next.js, Hydrogen, Remix).
• Understanding of third-party integrations such as payment gateways, subscriptions, or shipping apps.
• Knowledge of cloud hosting or deployment tools.
