Shopify Developer

Job Summary:

As a Shopify Developer at Systemsd, you will be responsible for developing, customizing, and maintaining Shopify themes, apps, and integrations. You’ll collaborate closely with our design, development, and marketing teams to build scalable, high-performing Shopify stores that align with our clients’ goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and customize Shopify themes using Liquid, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+), and JSON.
• Build custom Shopify apps (public and private) using Node.js, PHP, or Python.
• Integrate third-party APIs and tools to enhance store functionality.
• Collaborate with UX/UI designers to ensure responsive and visually appealing designs.
• Optimize website performance, speed, and SEO for maximum conversions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Shopify themes, apps, and integrations.
• Maintain and refactor code following best practices for maintainability and scalability.
• Participate in code reviews and collaborate with the team to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Work with DevOps to ensure smooth deployments and continuous integration.

Requirements:

• 1–3 years of hands-on experience with Shopify development (themes and apps).
• Strong proficiency in Shopify Liquid, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+), and jQuery.
• Experience with Shopify APIs, Storefront API, and GraphQL.
• Experience with Node.js, PHP (Laravel, Symfony), or Python (Django, FastAPI) for backend and app development.
• Proficiency in RESTful API integration.
• Familiarity with front-end tools like React, Vue.js, Webpack, or Babel.
• Experience with databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB.
• Solid understanding of Git version control.
• Familiarity with Shopify Plus, Headless Commerce, or Hydrogen is a plus.
• Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Shopify Hydrogen and Remix frameworks.
• Knowledge of TypeScript and Next.js.
• Familiarity with testing frameworks (Jest, Mocha, PHPUnit).
• Understanding of CI/CD processes, Docker, or Kubernetes.
• Experience working in an Agile environment.
• Knowledge of SEO best practices and Shopify performance optimization.
