Experience Requirements

• Total Experience: 5+ years
• Relevant Shopify Experience: Minimum 3 years (Shopify Plus preferred)

Must-Have Skills

• Strong expertise in Shopify Liquid and theme architecture
• Advanced proficiency in HTML5, CSS3/SASS, and JavaScript (ES6+)
• Front-end development experience using React.js
• Hands-on experience with Shopify app development using Node.js/Express
• Good understanding of REST and GraphQL APIs, including webhooks
• Proficient with Shopify CLI, Git/GitHub, and standard code review practices
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively with design, product, and backend teams
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Nice-to-Have / Preferred Skills

• Experience with Shopify Hydrogen, Oxygen, and headless Storefront API concepts
• Familiarity with TypeScript, Next.js, and Shopify Polaris
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions)
• Basic understanding of AWS or Vercel hosting environments
• Experience with checkout extensibility, custom apps, and integrations with ERP/PIM systems (SAP experience is an advantage)

Roles and Responsibilities

• Lead the development and enhancement of Shopify themes and custom applications
• Build responsive, accessible, and high-performance storefront experiences
• Integrate third-party systems such as payment gateways, CRM, analytics, and ERP/middleware
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues; ensure optimal performance and stability
• Mentor junior developers and promote best coding practices
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and improve delivery processes
• Stay updated with the latest Shopify platform updates and recommend improvements (including Hydrogen/Headless approaches)

Project Context

• Working on Shopify Plus storefronts integrated with SAP and AWS
• Multi-environment setup with CI/CD on GitHub
• Frequent collaboration with Product, Design, and QA teams
• Mix of feature enhancements and maintenance with a focus on customer-facing performance and reliability

Screening Guidelines

Validate hands-on experience in the following areas:

• Shopify Liquid and theme customization
• Custom app development (private/public)
• GraphQL API integration

Also assess communication skills and ability to engage directly with clients and stakeholders.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $68,967.76 - $83,057.94 per year
