Shopify Website Freelancer (Maintenance & Updates)

HEY TEEN is a fun, youth-focused skincare and beauty brand designed especially for teenagers and young adults
We’re all about creating safe, colorful, and effective products that promote confidence and self-care. Our online store, built on Shopify, is our main digital hub — and we’re looking for a talented freelancer to help us maintain, improve, and update it regularly.

Role Overview:

We are seeking a Shopify expert to handle ongoing website maintenance, content updates, and design edits. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with Shopify themes, product listings, apps, and front-end customization.

You will be responsible for keeping the website fresh, fast, and user-friendly while ensuring smooth integration of new features or campaigns.

Key Responsibilities:

• Regularly update website content (banners, product pages, images, offers, etc.)
• Add or edit products, descriptions, and collections
• Customize Shopify themes (liquid, CSS, HTML) as per brand design
• Optimize page speed and SEO performance
• Fix layout, design, or functionality issues as needed
• Integrate and manage Shopify apps (email, reviews, loyalty, etc.)
• Collaborate with our marketing and design team for campaign updates
• Maintain site security and backups
• Suggest and implement website improvements for better user experience

Requirements:

• Proven experience managing or developing Shopify websites
• Strong understanding of Shopify Admin, Liquid, HTML, CSS, JavaScript
• Knowledge of Shopify apps and third-party integrations
• Experience with SEO basics and Google Analytics preferred
• Good eye for design, layout, and brand consistency
• Ability to work independently and deliver on time
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Nice to Have:

• Knowledge of basic graphic editing tools (Canva, Photoshop, Figma)
• Experience with email marketing tools (Klaviyo, Mailchimp)
• Familiarity with teen or beauty/lifestyle brands

Work Type & Compensation:

• Freelance / Retainer basis (monthly or project-based)
• Flexible working hours (remote)
• Compensation based on experience and project scope
