Position Purpose:
Under the direction of a supervisor in either Water, Wastewater, Parks or the Department of Public Works, this position is responsible for performing manual labor of various kinds calling for physical strength and endurance, plus operating equipment for general maintenance.
Expected Work Schedule* 10 weeks from June – August, Monday-Friday; 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Physical Demands of the Position:
Duties involve the regular, and at times sustained, performance of heavier physical tasks such as walking over rough or uneven surfaces, bending, stooping, kneeling, leaping, jumping down (at least one foot), standing in place or continual walking, working in confined spaces, and lifting or carrying moderately heavy (20-50 pounds) items on a consistent basis. May involve the complex operation of gasoline, electric, or diesel-powered machinery, requiring the manipulation of multiple controls, fine adjustments or both; or involves the frequent use of coordination and manipulation skills in performing a variety of tasks with the full range of hand and power tools.
Equipment Used:
May be asked to operate a variety of equipment, among which are: utility carts, sprayers, pumps, generators, brush chippers, hand tools, and grass cutting tools.
