Sign Shop Operator / Production Designer

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Sign Shop Operator / Production Designer to join our growing sign manufacturing team, where creativity meets precision! In this vibrant role, you'll bring visual concepts to life through sign manufacturing and digital design. The role requires strong CorelDRAW proficiency and hands-on experience creating sign layouts, technical drawings, and fabrication-ready files. You will produce precise, production-approved artwork while working closely with the fabrication team to support a wide range of custom signage projects.

Responsibilities

• Create, edit, and manage sign designs and technical drawings using CorelDRAW (mandatory)
• Prepare production-ready files for CNC routing, laser cutting, and fabrication
• Work with CorelDRAW and Adobe Illustrator, using PDFs as needed for design and file conversion, to prepare accurate, production-ready artwork
• Develop scaled layouts, shop drawings, and detailed sign drawings
• Coordinate with production and fabrication teams to ensure accuracy
• Review drawings for dimensions, materials, and specifications
• Maintain organized digital files and production documentation
• Assist with sign production tasks as needed

Skills

• Strong CorelDRAW experience – REQUIRED
• Ability to create designs and technical drawings in CorelDRAW
• Working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator
• Understanding of sign manufacturing processes and materials
• Ability to read, create, and interpret shop drawings
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• CNC Router – VCarve
• Laser Cutter – LightBurn
• UV Flatbed Printer – RIP software (ONYX or similar)
• Roll-to-Roll Printer – ONYX Software
• Roland Printer – VersaWorks
• Summa Plotter – Summa GoSign
• Kongsberg Cutter – iQueue / iQue
• Letter Bender – SDS Bender CAD
• Sign industry experience preferred (but not mandatory for the right candidate)

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
