Signage Production Designer & Project Coordinator

The Role: High-Volume, High-Impact

Are you a pro in CorelDRAW or Adobe Creative Suite who loves the satisfaction of checking 5+ projects off your list every day? Southern Sign Company is looking for a Production Designer & Project Coordinator for our high volume design department.

This is a fast-paced, high-volume role. You won't be spending a week on a single logo; you’ll be managing 15–20 active projects per week, including vehicle wraps, window graphics, yard signs, and commercial wall signs. You are the bridge between the clients’ vision and our in-house custom fabrication team.

What You’ll Do Daily

• Rapid Design & Proofing: Create "build-ready" layouts for vehicle wraps, vinyl graphics, and banners. Turn around customer proofs in 24 hours or less.
• Technical Scoping: Discuss projects with customers to determine the best materials for their specific needs. (Not required today, but an interest in learning about the ins and outs of signage materials and construction is necessary.)
• Project Management: Manage your own workflow. You’ll juggle multiple deadlines, ensuring that a $50 yard sign gets out the door just as efficiently as a $5,000 vehicle wrap.
• Code & Permit Navigation: Perform quick checks on local sign ordinances to ensure window graphics and temporary signs are compliant before they go to print.
• Team Collaboration: Coordinate with our Pricing Specialist to get quotes to clients fast and hand off "flawless" vector files to our fabrication team.

The Profile We Are Looking For

• The "Short-Order Cook" Mentality: You thrive on speed and variety. You’d rather finish ten 15-minute tasks than one 3-hour task.
• Obsessively Organized: You don’t "manage by inbox." You use systems to ensure no customer goes 48 hours without an update.
• Technical Proficiency: You are a "Power User" in CorelDRAW or Adobe Illustrator. You understand layers, outlines, and scaling.
• Construction-Minded: You understand that signs are physical objects. You know (or can quickly learn) which materials are best for a customer's specific needs.
• Self-starter: You take ownership of your work, communicate clearly, and keep the shop moving.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in a fast-paced sign shop, print shop, or production design environment.
• Expert-level vector design skills (CorelDRAW or Adobe Illustrator).
• Customer Service Mindset: You enjoy talking to people and making them feel taken care of.
• Attention to Detail: You catch the typo before the sign is printed.
