This position is for a Senior SBC Architect / Design Lead, with a primary focus on:
- High‑level design and architecture for Session Border Controllers
- Primarily within Oracle SBC, but any strong SBC background (Acme Packet, Ribbon, etc.) is valuable
- The environment includes Oracle VoCaas solutions
- Work spans both telephony configuration and networking integration
- The role is configuration-heavy, not development-heavy, but requires a strong ability to translate architectural needs into design and implementation.
Key Responsibilities
Telephony & SBC Architecture
- Lead architectural design for SBC environments
- Interface design, mapping, routing, dial plans
- Support for session managers and SIP flows
- Prioritization of voice packets and proper QoS considerations
Network & Voice Integration
Candidates must bring a blend of skills:
- Knowledge of how networks must be configured to support SBCs
- Understanding of subnetting, NAT, routing, call flows, traffic engineering
- Ability to work directly with networking teams while independently configuring SBC components
Technical Leadership
- Partner with the existing SBC architect to reduce workload
- Participate in design of complex, enterprise-scale voice environments
- Serve as SME for voice/SIP/SBC issues
Must-Have Skills
- Deep SBC experience (Oracle strongly preferred)
- Strong understanding of SIP and telephony routing
- Networking fundamentals & ability to design network/SBC integrations
- Architectural-level voice systems design experience
- Hands-on configuration capability (not just oversight)
Nice to Have
- SIP development skills
- OCCASS experience
- Experience with Oracle VoCaas
- Previous work in large, complex enterprises (multiple LOBs, multiple carriers)
Soft Skills
- Curiosity and willingness to learn new technologies
- Strong problem-solving across complex systems
- Comfortable operating in a high-complexity telephony ecosystem
