A Site Billing Engineer (Plumbing Specialist) is responsible for the financial and contractual management of plumbing, sanitation, and often firefighting systems in construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Quantity Surveying & Take-offs: Study plumbing drawings (GFC drawings) to calculate accurate quantities of pipes, fittings, fixtures, and insulation.
- BOQ Preparation: Prepare and manage the Bill of Quantities (BOQ) for plumbing works.
- RA Bill Preparation: Prepare and process Running Account (RA) bills and final bills for plumbing subcontractors on a monthly basis.
- Site Measurement Verification: Conduct on-site measurements and verify quantities executed by contractors against drawings.
- Material Reconciliation: Perform monthly material reconciliation (e.g., pipes, fittings) to track consumption vs. wastage.
- Variation Orders & Rate Analysis: Identify, calculate, and prepare rates for extra items or variations in the plumbing scope.
- Vendor/Subcontractor Management: Certify subcontractor invoices and manage vendor payments.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain all billing records, Joint Measurement Records (JMR), and prepare daily/monthly progress reports.
Key Requirements
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of plumbing systems (drainage, water supply, sewage), CPWD norms, and IS codes.
- Software Skills: Proficiency in MS Excel (advanced) and AutoCAD.
- Experience: 3–5 years of experience in billing for MEP, plumbing, or firefighting projects, with preference for high-rise residential/commercial projects.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- Communication: Strong coordination skills to liaise with site engineers, clients, and subcontractors.
