Job Title: Construction Site Electrician

A Construction Site Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment on construction projects. They ensure that electrical installations are completed safely, efficiently, and according to building codes, project specifications, and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, and wiring diagrams.
• Install electrical wiring, conduits, cable trays, switches, outlets, lighting systems, and control panels.
• Assemble and install electrical equipment and fixtures.
• Test electrical systems and troubleshoot faults or malfunctions.
• Connect power supply systems and ensure proper grounding.
• Maintain temporary power systems on construction sites.
• Inspect electrical components to identify hazards, defects, or required repairs.
• Follow local electrical codes, safety standards, and construction regulations.
• Coordinate with engineers, supervisors, and other construction trades.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and electrical materials properly.
• Ensure safe working practices and use personal protective equipment (PPE).

Required Skills

• Knowledge of electrical systems, wiring methods, and installation techniques.
• Ability to read technical drawings and electrical schematics.
• Skill in using electrical tools, testing devices, and equipment.
• Understanding of electrical safety standards and regulations.
• Troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Physical fitness for working at heights, lifting materials, and site activities.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Technical training or diploma in electrical work.
• Relevant electrician certification or license.
• Previous experience in construction or industrial electrical work.
• Knowledge of local electrical codes and safety procedures.
