Job Description: Site Engineer (High-Rise Project)
Location: Dubai, UAE
Sector: Building Construction (High-Rise)
Reporting to: Project Engineer / Site Agent
Role Objective
The Site Engineer is responsible for the day-to-day technical supervision and coordination of construction activities on-site. You will ensure that high-rise structural, architectural, and MEP elements are executed according to approved shop drawings, within the project timeline, and in strict compliance with Dubai Municipality/Civil Defense safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervision & Execution: Oversee daily site operations for high-rise cycles (formwork, reinforcement, and concreting). Ensure "Typical Floor" cycles are optimized for speed and quality.
- Setting Out: Coordinate with the Surveyor to ensure accurate building control, verticality (plumbness) of the core wall, and floor levels.
- Logistics Management: Manage the heavy lifting schedule (Tower Cranes and Passenger Hoists) to ensure materials and manpower reach the upper floors without bottlenecks.
- Quality Control (QA/QC): Raise Requests for Inspection (RFIs) for consultants. Ensure all work meets the approved Method Statements and ITPs (Inspection Test Plans).
- Sub-contractor Coordination: Lead and coordinate various sub-contractors (Steel fixers, MEP, Facade/Aluminium, and Finishing) to prevent clashes and delays.
- Safety Compliance: Enforce strict HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) standards, especially regarding "Work at Height," edge protection, and falling object prevention.
- Daily Reporting: Maintain accurate daily site diaries, labor histograms, and progress photos to keep the Project Manager updated.
- Material Management: Prepare Material Requisition (MR) forms and track deliveries to ensure no "stock-outs" halt the high-rise cycle.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
- Experience:
- 4–7 years of site experience in building construction.
- Must have worked on at least one high-rise project (G+20 minimum).
- Direct experience with Jump-form, Slip-form, or Table-form systems is a major plus.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficient in reading Structural & Architectural Shop Drawings.
- Basic knowledge of AutoCAD and MS Project.
- Familiarity with Dubai-specific authority codes (DM, DCD, Tecom, etc.).
- Certifications: Valid UAE Driving License is preferred.
Core Competencies
- Vertical Thinking: Understanding the unique challenges of high-rise logistics (pumping concrete to high altitudes, wind speeds affecting cranes).
- Problem Solving: Ability to resolve technical clashes on-site between MEP and Structural elements.
- Resilience: Capable of working in Dubai’s climate and managing the pressure of 4-to-5-day floor cycles.
- Leadership: Strong personality to manage site foremen and large labor gangs effectively.
