Site Engineer - Facade

Job Summary: Responsible for planning, coordinating, supervising, and monitoring all facade-related works to ensure compliance with project specifications, approved shop drawings, quality standards, safety requirements, and project schedules. The role covers GRC works, glass balustrades, aluminium curtain walls, external painting, and stone cladding installations, while ensuring timely execution, quality workmanship, and effective coordination with consultants, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, coordinate, supervise, and monitor all facade-related works in accordance with project specifications, approved shop drawings, quality standards, safety requirements, and project schedules.
• Review drawings, shop drawings, material submittals, and technical details related to facade and external envelope works.
• Provide work fronts and coordinate site readiness for aluminium and facade-related activities.
• Monitor fabrication, delivery, and installation of aluminium curtain wall systems.
• Ensure proper installation of aluminium frames, glass panels, sealants, and waterproofing systems.
• Coordinate site inspections, testing requirements, consultant inspections, and ensure timely approvals.
• Review and monitor mock-ups, water tests, and performance tests where applicable.
• Supervise installation of glass balustrades and handrails.
• Ensure compliance with approved details, safety requirements, and structural stability for glass balustrade systems.
• Verify glass specifications, fittings, anchorage systems, alignment, and installation tolerances.
• Monitor fabrication and installation of GRC panels.
• Ensure proper alignment, fixing systems, joints, and structural supports for GRC works.
• Inspect quality, dimensions, finishing, and installation tolerances of GRC elements.
• Inspect surface preparation, primers, and finishing coats for external painting works.
• Monitor paint application procedures and ensure compliance with manufacturer recommendations.
• Ensure colour consistency, coating thickness, and required quality standards.
• Supervise installation of stone cladding systems.
• Verify fixing methods, brackets, anchors, and support systems for stone cladding works.
• Ensure alignment, joint spacing, and finish quality meet project requirements.
• Conduct regular inspections and prepare quality reports.
• Raise and close snag lists related to facade works.
• Ensure compliance with approved materials and installation procedures.
• Monitor facade work progress against project schedules and identify delays.
• Implement corrective actions to recover delays and maintain planned progress.
• Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports.
• Coordinate material deliveries, workforce requirements, and subcontractor activities.
• Resolve site-related technical issues and provide practical engineering solutions.
• Maintain effective communication and reporting with consultants, subcontractors, and project management teams.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or Construction Management.
• 6 or more years of experience in facade and external envelope works including at least 4 years in UAE.
• Proven experience in GRC works, glass balustrades, aluminium curtain walls, stone cladding, and external finishing works.
• Strong knowledge of facade systems, waterproofing requirements, fixing systems, and installation methodologies.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, and project management software.
