Site Engineer (Mechanical)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated Site Engineer with strong experience in steel structure fabrication and erection projects. The candidate will be responsible for execution, supervision, coordination with the main contractor, manpower planning, and ensuring project completion within time and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities: Site Execution & Supervision

• Supervise daily site activities related to steel structure erection
• Execute works as per approved drawings and method statements
• Ensure proper alignment, leveling, and structural accuracy
• Monitor fabrication-to-erection workflow

Planning & Coordination

• Coordinate with main contractor, consultant, and client representatives
• Attend site meetings and provide progress updates
• Prepare daily and weekly progress reports
• Coordinate with procurement and factory team for material dispatch

Manpower & Resource Management

• Plan manpower, equipment, and tools requirement
• Supervise foremen, fabricators, welders, and erection crews
• Monitor productivity and control wastage

Technical & Documentation

• Interpret structural drawings, GA drawings, shop drawings

Quality & Safety

• Ensure works comply with QA/QC standards
• Coordinate inspections with consultant/client
• Implement safety measures as per HSE guidelines
• Close NCRs and maintain documentation

Delay & Issue Management

• Identify potential delays in erection activities
• Coordinate with planning engineer for recovery plan
• Resolve technical issues on-site immediately
• Maintain smooth workflow despite site constraints

• Raise RFI when required
• Handle inspection requests (IR), material inspection requests (MIR)
• Ensure compliance with approved method statements

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil / Mechanical Engineering
• 3–7+ years of experience in steel fabrication & erection projects
• UAE experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of PEB, structural steel, fit-out metal works
• Ability to handle subcontractor site operations independently
