Position Summary:
The Site Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations and successful performance of a federal grounds maintenance contract. This position oversees personnel, equipment, scheduling, quality control, and contract compliance to ensure all work is performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with contract requirements. The Site Manager serves as the primary liaison between the contractor and government personnel while providing leadership and direction to field staff. The ideal candidate possesses experience managing grounds maintenance operations, leading small teams, and maintaining positive working relationships with customers, vendors, and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
· Manage overall contract performance, including planning, scheduling, cost tracking, reporting, recordkeeping, and quality control to ensure all performance objectives and standards are met as specified in the contract and supporting documents.
· Manage daily field operations, including work order prioritization, crew assignments, and follow-up inspections to ensure timely completion of contract requirements.
· Oversee the financial operations of the project, which includes cash flow, inventory management, subcontractor/vendor payments, and ensuring accurate invoicing and payroll.
· Manage and oversee grounds personnel responsible for daily operations, quality, and safety.
· Represent the contractor at government, client, and internal coordination meetings; prepare and distribute meeting minutes, attendance records, and follow-up action items.
· Develop and maintain partnerships with subcontractors and vendors to ensure satisfactory performance and timely delivery.
· Be onsite during the government’s regular working hours (0630 – 1615) Monday through Friday and shall be available on-site within one hour after the regular working hours when needed.
· Oversee and verify the certification and training of all employees on both which are necessary to complete all tasks safely and accurately. The PM should also maintain accurate records of this training.
· Maintain all contractor-owned vehicles and equipment, including regular maintenance, repairs, and tracking.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Minimum 5 years of experience managing grounds maintenance, landscaping, or related field service operations, preferably on government contracts.
· Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to manage a small team effectively.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interfacing with government clients and internal stakeholders.
· Working knowledge of grounds maintenance best practices, OSHA safety standards, and government contracting principles.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
· Valid driver’s license.
· Ability to pass thorough background check for access to military installations.
Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
