About the Role:
We are an AR/VR company offering immersive virtual experiences of India's holy temples. We’re looking for a talented Sketch Artist to create culturally accurate, high-quality illustrations of temple architecture and deities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create highly detailed and visually appealing sketches of temple architecture and traditional depictions of gods and goddesses.
- Ensure artistic precision in line work, proportions, and design elements to maintain high visual standards.
- Produce artwork that is culturally and religiously accurate, respecting traditional symbolism (e.g., mudras, ornaments, deity attributes, sacred geometry).
- Collaborate with religious scholars or internal subject matter experts to validate cultural authenticity.
- Deliver sketches within defined project timelines, aligning with the broader production schedule.
- Work closely with content writers, researchers, UI/UX designers, and VR/app developers to ensure seamless integration of artwork across digital platforms.
- Create sketches optimized for adaptability in digital environments including AR/VR, mobile apps, and print media.
- Conduct site visits and independent research to gather reference material and better understand temple architecture and deity representation.
- Build and maintain a digital and physical reference library of authentic images, symbols, and architectural elements.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a sketch artist, illustrator, or visual designer, preferably with a focus on heritage, religious, or cultural themes.
- Strong understanding of Indian temple architecture, iconography, and artistic styles across various regions and traditions.
- Proficient in hand-drawing and digital sketching tools (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Procreate, etc.).
- Ability to translate cultural and spiritual nuances into accurate and respectful visuals.
- Excellent collaboration and time management skills.
- Willingness to travel for field research and site documentation.
- Degree/Diploma in Fine Arts, Visual Design, Architecture, or a related field is a plus.
