Position: Landscape Construction / Crew Leader

The Landscape Construction Crew Leader is responsible for providing effective leadership, supervision, and training to crew members while ensuring all landscape installation and construction projects are completed efficiently, safely, and professionally. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in quality workmanship, communicates well, and can lead a small team in the field.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a crew of 1–3 employees
• Perform installation and construction duties for both hardscape and planting projects
• Read, interpret, and execute landscape construction plans and drawings
• Conduct project layout and ensure proper site preparation
• Complete required paperwork accurately and on time
• Train, mentor, and support crew members in techniques and safety procedures
• Maintain project timelines and daily jobsite organization
• Ensure compliance with company safety policies and procedures
• Promote a positive, professional, and productive work environment

Job Skills

• Strong knowledge of hardscape and planting practices
• Irrigation layout and installation
• Familiar with Masonry and Carpentry
• Ability to read and understand construction plans/drawings
• Effective communication and leadership skills
• Ability to supervise, organize, and train crew members
• CPR and First Aid Certified (or ability to obtain certification)

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum 4 years of landscape installation experience
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Ability to speak, read, and write English; basic Spanish preferred
• Able to work with minimal supervision
• Comply with company policies, procedures, and safety standards
• Must possess a valid California Driver’s License and be insurable under company policies
• Reliable work habits and a commitment to quality workmanship

Compensation & Benefits

• $28 - $32.50 per hour, depending on experience, skills, training, and language ability
