Position Title: Skilled Trades Technician
Employment Type: Full‑Time
Work Environment: Industrial, Commercial, and Field Job Sites
Reports To: Field Supervisor / Project Manager
Role Overview
The Skilled Trades Technician plays a key role in completing hands‑on work across multiple job sites. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys physical work, problem‑solving, and working with tools, equipment, and machinery. You’ll support installations, repairs, maintenance tasks, and day‑to‑day field operations depending on the job.
Key Responsibilities
- Equipment Installation — Assist with installing mechanical, electrical, or structural components according to project requirements.
- Maintenance & Repairs — Perform routine inspections, troubleshoot issues, and complete repairs safely and efficiently.
- Blueprint & Schematic Reading — Interpret drawings, measurements, and technical documents to complete tasks accurately.
- Tool & Machinery Operation — Safely operate hand tools, power tools, lifts, and job‑specific equipment.
- Job Site Safety — Follow OSHA standards, company safety rules, and proper PPE procedures.
- Material Handling — Load, unload, stage, and organize materials for daily operations.
- Team Collaboration — Work closely with supervisors, tradespeople, and contractors to complete projects on schedule.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Mechanical Aptitude and comfort working with tools
- Ability to lift 50–75 lbs and work in physically demanding environments
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Strong work ethic, punctuality, and willingness to learn
- Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, or outdoors as needed
- Basic understanding of safety procedures and job‑site etiquette
Preferred Experience (Not Required)
- Trade School Training or certifications
- Experience in construction, welding, electrical, mechanical, or industrial maintenance
- Forklift, aerial lift, or rigging experience
- Ability to read blueprints or technical drawings
