Skyward State Reporter and Student Data Base Coordinator

West Noble School Corporation is seeking a detail-oriented and tech-savvy professional to join our team as the State Reporter and Student Database Coordinator (Skyward). This is a vital position combining technology, administration, and state compliance. The State Reporter and Student Database Coordinator is responsible for the integrity, management, and reporting of all student data within the district. This role serves as the primary liaison between the school district and the Department of Education, ensuring that all state and federal reporting mandates are met accurately and on schedule to secure appropriate district funding and compliance. This role works directly with the Curriculum Director and Technology Director to ensure that our student data directly supports our funding and educational goals.


Key Responsibilities

  • Data Integrity & Management: Oversee the district’s Student Information System (SIS), ensuring all student records (enrollment, attendance, grades, and demographics) are accurate and up-to-date. This includes program set up, policy and guideline creation for Skyward user groups, Skyward support contact, and troubleshooting.
  • State Reporting: Prepare, verify, and submit all required state and federal reports (e.g., DOE-ME, DOE-LM, DOE-PE). Monitor "Real Time" data exchanges to resolve errors immediately.
  • Technical Support & Training: Provide guidance, support and training to school-level employees and staff on data entry standards and SIS best practices. Work directly with and support central office staff (Curriculum department, Technology department, and Finance department) in the management of those areas in Skyward.
  • Data Analysis: Generate custom reports for district leadership to assist in decision-making, grant applications, and enrollment projections.
  • Compliance: Stay current on changing state reporting legislation and technical requirements, attending regional workshops, trainings and webinars as necessary.
  • Security: Maintain strict confidentiality of student records in accordance with FERPA and district privacy policies.


Additional Responsibilities

  • PowerSchool Special Programs: Provide tech support and troubleshoot issues for EL and SpEd teachers within PSSP.
  • Special Education Co-Op (NEISEC): Work directly with NEISEC staff to manage SpEd student enrollments and issues.


Qualifications

  • Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Data Management, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience: Previous experience with school database systems (e.g., PowerSchool, Skyward, Infinite Campus) and Indiana state reporting (Data Exchange/Ed-Fi) is required.
  • Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; strong analytical troubleshooting skills; ability to meet rigid deadlines with very strong attention to detail. Must be able to work independently and have excellent time management skills.
