Sleep Studies Coordinator/ Scheduling & Prior authorizations

Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Sleep Studies Coordinator ( for home sleep studies) specializing in scheduling and prior authorizations to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will coordinate home sleep study appointments, handing devices, uploading studies in SomnoWare, manage insurance authorizations, and ensure seamless communication between patients, providers, and insurance companies. Your expertise will help facilitate efficient patient care pathways, optimize scheduling workflows, and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and schedule home sleep studies for patients, ensuring timely appointments that align with clinical needs and patient availability
  • Obtain prior authorization from insurance providers by verifying coverage, submitting necessary documentation, and following up to secure approvals
  • Maintain accurate medical records and documentation related to sleep studies, insurance claims, and patient interactions in compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Communicate effectively with patients regarding appointment details, preparation instructions, and insurance requirements
  • Download sleep studies.
  • Assist in resolving billing issues related to sleep studies by liaising with insurance companies and patients as needed

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of managed care processes and insurance verification procedures
  • Prior experience working in a medical office setting or healthcare environment with familiarity in medical terminology and records management
  • Proficiency in HIPAA compliance standards to protect patient privacy and confidentiality
  • Experience with CPT coding, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding, and medical billing practices
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple scheduling tasks efficiently
  • Effective communication skills for interacting with patients, providers, and insurance representatives
  • Familiarity with office software applications and electronic health record (EHR) systems; experience in medical records management is preferred
  • Knowledge of dental office experience or related healthcare settings is a plus

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
