Small Engine Mechanic

Job Summary
CTS Equipment LLC is a fast growing business here in Greenville, MI. We are looking to expand the service side of our business and are looking for a qualified and motivated small engine mechanic/service advisor capable of growing with our business.

This position requires small engine and basic power equipment knowledge and candidate must possess a decent level of communication skills in order to relay information to the customer.

CTS Equipment LLC uses the IDEAL point of sale system for customer, equipment, and work order management. Candidate must be able to learn the IDEAL POS system and use it competently.

Certifications not necessary if prior work experience gives you the knowledge and ability to complete duties required in the job description.

CTS Equipment LLC will provide the necessary resources and opportunities to expand the candidates education and certifications. Furthering education and obtaining of certifications from Spartan Mowers, Kawasaki Engines, Briggs and Stratton, and other manufactures will be required.

CTS Equipment LLC will be expanding product lines into diesel equipment and any diesel engine experience is a bonus!

Duties

• Diagnose issues with small engines, including carburetors, ignition systems, fuel systems, EFI systems and electrical components
• Perform repairs on a variety of equipment such as lawnmowers, snow blowers, generators, and power tools
• Use schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical problems
• Conduct routine maintenance tasks including oil changes, tune-ups, and part replacements
• Operate hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, and heavy lifting to complete repairs efficiently
• Test repaired equipment to ensure proper operation and safety standards are met
• Maintain detailed service records and communicate repair status clearly to customers

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Small Engine Mechanic or in a similar service technician role
• Strong mechanical knowledge of small engines and related equipment repair techniques
• Familiarity with schematics, electrical systems, diesel engine repair, and automotive repair is a bonus
• Proficiency using hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and specialized machinery is a bonus
• Communication and customer service skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to clients are required
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
• Valid driver’s license may be required for certain service calls
