Job Title: Small Engine Mechanic

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Small Engine Mechanic to join our team. The Small Engine Mechanic will be responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing a wide variety of small engines, including but not limited to lawn mowers, chainsaws, generators, motorcycles, and other power equipment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical abilities, a keen attention to detail, and a commitment to customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain small engines and related equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, spark plug replacement, and cleaning.
• Inspect and test engines to identify issues and recommend solutions.
• Order, replace, and install engine parts as necessary.
• Maintain accurate service records and update work orders.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and environmental guidelines.
• Communicate effectively with customers regarding diagnostics, repair options, and estimated timeframes.
• Stay current with technology and repair techniques by attending training sessions as needed.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Proven experience as a small engine mechanic or in a related technical field.
• Familiarity with diagnosing and repairing a variety of small engine types.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and diagrams.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent manual dexterity and physical stamina.
• Valid driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification from a recognized small engine repair program (e.g., EETC, ASE).
• Experience working with both gasoline and diesel-powered small engines.
• Basic computer proficiency for accessing work orders and repair manuals.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Working Conditions
