Benable’s team culture is all about bringing together a small, tight-knit group of super talented people to create something magical. We are now looking to bring on a full-time Social Media & Community Manager, and the role is so important that we're considering it to be part of our founding team.

COMPANY OVERVIEW
Benable is a registered Public Benefit Corporation, which means that we are a for-profit company, but also have an obligation to drive positive social impact. Our focus is on strengthening the social fabric by making it easier for people to help one another.

We are building the Word of Mouth platform – the place to find and share things you love. Whatever it is you’re looking for – products, services, local professionals, a place to stay, etc. – Benable makes it easy to find & share those recommendations.

We were originally founded in the D.C. area, but have a remote culture and we get the whole team together a few times per year. Our founder was previously a founding team member of a San Francisco startup that raised $60M in venture capital, grew to 300 employees, and brought in $250M+ in annual revenue.

THE ROLE
This isn't a typical social media role. If you're looking to post some cool content, keep the account active, and call it a day—this is the job for you. This role requires insane levels of drive, creativity, and a broad range of skills. You'll move fast, juggle a lot, and be at the center of some of our most important work. In this role, you’ll report directly to Benable’s Head of Content & Community and collaborate closely with our entire team. Your key responsibilities will include:

1) Drive Benable’s Social Presence

You’ll lead our socials across TikTok & Instagram (and other platforms as needed e.g. LinkedIn) — driving the strategy, creating the content (yourself or with design support), publishing consistently, measuring, and shaping how we show up. We’re looking for a level of social media presence that really moves the needle for the entire company and community.

2) Engage the Community & Build Relationships

A core part of your job is deeply engaging with our incredible community daily. Whether it’s in DMs, comments, texts, Zoom calls, in-person meetups, this is hands-on community building at its finest.

3) Driving Insights That Shape Our Product

You'll be our direct line to what the community is thinking. Feedback, ideas, frustrations, trends—you'll tease it all out through DM convos, polls, Zoom calls, and social listening, and drive those insights to the rest of our team.

4) Bringing Benable to Life IRL

Our in-person events are a huge part of how we deepen creator relationships. You'll be central to making them happen—manging communication with brands, overseeing invitations, and attending events yourself.

5) A Little Bit of Everything Else

We're a small team that moves fast. You'll jump in on special projects constantly, build things, test things, run analysis, do research—whatever's needed. You'll learn a lot as you get stretched into new areas.

WHO YOU ARE
Someone who’s insanely talented at social media, with incredible drive, strong analytical thinking, amazing creativity, and endless energy. Yes, we know we’re looking for a needle in a haystack! But we know you’re out there!

1) You're creative, social-native, and have your finger on the pulse. You live and breathe social. You understand what feels native on social, what’s cringey, what’s fresh, and what’s already played out. You’re genuinely creative, you think way outside the box, and you have great taste. You’re very comfortable on camera and you know how to record and edit short-form video that delivers. You can learn new tools on the fly and you're already a prolific AI user —using it to move faster and do better work.

2) You're incredibly proactive, driven, and resourceful. You don't wait around for someone to tell you what to do—you take initiative and drive things forward. When you hit a wall, you find a way through it. You're flexible, adaptable, and ready to work hard (this is a 50-60+ hr/week role).

3) You’re organized, analytical, and sweat the details. You can keep a lot of moving pieces straight, you have a solid analytical bar, you’re comfortable in Excel/Sheets, and you consistently produce clean, accurate work without needing someone to double-check it.

4) You’re great with people and build real relationships. You’re personable, thoughtful, and good at understanding people. You get energy from relationships, and are always curious to learn how we can deliver a better experience. People like being around you. No ego, no job too small, and you’re great at receiving feedback.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
