We have a full-time role that we are adding to our growing team of professionals. As the Social Media & Content Specialist, you will focus on the management of our clients’ social media platforms, ensuring our creative content is posted accurately and consistently, and that audience engagement is active and on brand. Under the strategic guidance of our Chief Storyteller, you will create social media content (taking photos and videos, designing posts, and writing copy) and use our social media software to ensure posts are scheduled in accordance with best practices according to each platform’s algorithms. Following brand standards and adhering to approved copy, you will respond to audience interactions with our clients’ platforms, including reviews, comments, questions, and more. You will also be responsible for running consistent reports for our team to analyze the effectiveness of our social media efforts. As needed, you will also create and manage client newsletters or other marketing materials such as copywriting, flyers or website posters.
This role reports directly to the Head of Creative Production. This role is a full-time, salaried, exempt position.
Responsibilities include:
- Social Media Content Creation:
- Capturing images and video of people, places, events, and objects under the direction of the strategy developed by the Chief Storyteller and Content Department Manager
- When necessary, setting up backdrops, lighting, and equipment to prepare for a photoshoot, directing clients and subjects to capture compelling images, and editing the photos
- Support the generation of marketing qualified leads (MQLs) through social media posts that generate likes, shares, and reposting.
- Social Media Management:
- Using our social media software (Agorapulse), publish content for clients on their Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, LinkedIn, GMB and other social media platforms that engage the right target audience.
- Support the generation of marketing qualified leads (MQLs) through social media posts that generate likes, shares, and reposting.
- Produce reports and data on social media performance for analysis by the team and clients.
- Following approved copy and brand guidelines, respond to audience interactions on clients’ social media platforms, including but not limited to, comments, questions and reviews.
- Brainstorm and suggest new ways to improve traffic by tapping into new platforms and channels.
- Ensure that the content is compliant with the copyright and data protection laws.
- Maintain consistency in content and ensure alignment with the brand history and plans.
- Photography and Videography:
- Capture and edit visual content for multiple platforms.
- Deliver final product to various sources including internal and external customers, media, graphic designers, and corporate communications.
- Perform retouching and image adjustments after shoots.
- Be available as needed to gather client content on weekends and/or after business hours.
- Newsletters:
- Design and write content for client newsletters.
- Distribute newsletters.
- Produce reports on newsletter deliverability, unsubscribes, engagement, open rate, click through rate, etc.
- Other Written and Graphic Content:
- Create written and graphic content for a variety of marketing mediums, including but not limited to, press releases, eblasts, websites, flyers, signage, etc.
- Conduct keyword research and use SEO guidelines to optimize content.
- Promote content business to clients and the public.
- Research industry-related topics.
- Provide final proofreading tasks for content to be published.
- Attend client meetings as necessary.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of professional experience with social media.
- Associates or bachelors degree in marketing, social media management, public relations or similar field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience with Adobe, Canva and similar graphic design software.
- Photography and retouching skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong written communication skills.
- Strong organization and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
