The Social Media and Project Manager (PM) is responsible for daily client interactions and project management across multiple accounts. Working closely with various departments: design, editorial/writing, digital, accounting, and external partners/clients, the PM ensures projects (social media and other project types) are completed efficiently and meet high standards for quality.

Our ideal candidate can meet with clients to define social content needs, choose the formats that will stand out, and determine the smartest ways to distribute content across the right channels. They collaborate closely with our creative teams to manage content development from concept through completion, then handle posting and scheduling on the client’s behalf. Experience managing projects beyond social media is a strong plus.

This role is a full time hybrid position (requiring 2 days in-office). Our clients are located nationwide, so the PM should be comfortable with video meetings and virtual collaboration. We are seeking an individual with at least 2-3 years of progressively responsible experience in marketing or project management, who is self-directed, able to work independently, and receptive to real-time feedback and coaching. This person should have expertise in organic social media (B2B and B2C), from content planning through to scheduling/posting/reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day activities for assigned clients, ensuring smooth execution by working closely with creative teams and adhering to project schedules and budgets.
  • Act as a strategic partner, offering recommendations to clients beyond their requests and keeping projects aligned with their goals.
  • Lead client meetings (in-person, via phone, or video), gathering details to create detailed creative briefs and ensuring clear communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Present agency work, proposals, and concepts effectively to clients.
  • Ensure proper coordination between traditional and digital marketing efforts, maintaining brand consistency across all client touchpoints.
  • Oversee the execution of campaigns across traditional, digital, social media, video, and other advertising channels.
  • Review creative work, provide background and rationale to your clients, and ensure that all projects meet quality standards before seeking client reviews/approval.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients, including a brief check-in and response to any emails once per evening (typically around 8 p.m. ET) to confirm receipt of any after-hours communications for our West Coast clients.
  • Stay curious and keep up to date on emerging trends in the social media space. Serve as an internal expert and share new trends/tools/information with the PM team.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of progressively responsible experience in marketing or project management, with a proven ability to manage (and grow) client relationships and run projects independently.
  • Must have organic social media experience in B2B and B2C.
  • Paid social media experience is also a “nice-to-have”.
  • Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Experience working directly with clients, including presenting ideas and strategies confidently.
  • Ability to work autonomously while being open to feedback and continuous improvement.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in MS Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
  • Proficiency with AI tools, like ChatGPT and Gemini.
  • Proficiency with Meta (Facebook, Instagram) and LinkedIn. Additional social channels (TikTok, Reddit) are nice to have.
  • Willingness to check and respond to emails once each evening to accommodate time zone differences with clients.
