Social Media Content & Community Marketing Specialist

Social Media Content & Community Marketing Specialist

Applicants must be based in Ohio. This is a hybrid position centered around the Toledo area and requires regular in-person attendance at arts events, partner locations, and organizational activities throughout Northwest Ohio.

Overview

The Scribe, Ohio’s statewide nonprofit arts newspaper, is hiring a full-time Social Media & Community Marketing Specialist to help grow public visibility for our publication, artists, and cultural partnerships across Ohio.

This is a video-heavy role focused on short-form content production, social media management, event coverage, and community-facing storytelling. We are looking for an experienced creative professional who can independently produce engaging platform-native content while maintaining a strong arts-focused brand identity.

Because this role is still evolving within the organization, candidates should be comfortable working independently, contributing creative input, and helping shape content direction.

This is not an entry-level or training-oriented role. Candidates should already have prior experience creating and managing social media content in a professional, organizational, freelance, media, or business setting.

About The Scribe

Published by the nonprofit Apollo Press, The Scribe distributes 4,000 copies monthly across 200+ community locations throughout Ohio, including libraries, cafés, galleries, arts venues, and cultural institutions. We feature artists, exhibitions, performances, organizations, and cultural development across the state.

We are looking for someone with a strong interest in arts, culture, and community-focused media who understands how to present creative work professionally and consistently to a public audience.
